Get to Know Us

Having actively engaged in various volunteering initiatives and assuming leadership roles, such as the Junior Chief Executives (JCE) programme organized by the Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA) and the UNICEF Young Envoys, Beatrice was increasingly captivated by a specific segment of the young student population: those with Special Educational Needs, particularly individuals facing the challenges of dyslexia.

Based on her passion on STEM topics, she took the initiative to create an app for students to learn Chinese characters. Later she set up a youth platform called Cactus, which connect youth with the same aspiration to assist dyslexic children to learn happily and effectively.

In order to have further development on the app and the platform, Beatrice joined the Hong Kong Gifted Apprentice Programme (HKGAP) organised by The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE). With their guidance and sponsorship, Cactus is able to reach the milestone of connecting with NGOs and promoting the app to children in need.
